Petrol 'Wings' bag for Z1 - layout?

I like to have the Mic Holder attached to my Z1 in the bag for quick deployment. Maybe the centre insert was supplied upside down, maybe I'm doing something wrong... But as supplied, the camera didn't feel right in the bag if I had the Mic Holder attached.

I noticed that the central panel has a little cutout with a flap somewhere near the middle of the longest dimension, an inch from the edge. As supplied, it was at the bottom, but turning it upside down seems to allow the Mic Holder to poke through it - but only just (and the little orange pad sits under the lens barrel).

It seems to make sense, but now the two short straps that used to hold a short shotgun mic and softie are split up so one side (the camera side) is s short stub to nowhere, and the other's on the accessory side doing nothing in particular.

So I can pack the bag safely with the Mic holder attached, but the strap positions tell me that this wasn't intended... How did you lay out yours?
