Tripod head for cheap stedicam?

I want a similar or better tripod head like in this photo?

http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/steady..._mount_big.jpg

I have the $14 steadicam ( http://www.cs.cmu.edu/~johnny/steadycam/ )and I want to attach my FX1 because it is so light and appears to work with this steadicam. I've emailed Johnny but no response.

What kind of tripod head should I be looking for to simply attach the head to the thread on the stedicam? Any ideas?

I bought a Bogen 486 head for my "steadicam". I built one just like that and this ball head works out great for my PD170 and Z1.
