I am having aa hard time finding a mounting bracket to mount these 2 items, not to mention I still need to mount the Sennheiser wireless Lav as well. Any suggestions ?

the side of the FX1 handle has the same screws as the Z1. they just removed the mic holder and put a plastic cover.
you can drill the plastic cover , add 2 screws to allow to fix a new support.
ideally you could find a Z1 mic holder from an broken one.
unfurtunately Sony is not selling the full assembly.

WOW, talk about on time !! I just e-mailed my local DV guy and asked him this. I shot alot at Long Beach this past weekend with a bracket and had all 3 on top and it was crazy working thru crowds etc, not to mention doing interviews inside of cars.

I had wanted to do this, but now that you told me I am going to do this.

Next will be finding a battery pack that has a flat back so I can mount the Sennheiser Lav' to the back and not need anything other than the single mount. Clean look will work best it seems.

Mercy !!

Here's a pretty extensive thread on how to mount the Z1 assembly to an FX1... but it's not cheap.

Myles

I Have four e custom made spacers for the FX1. The mic holder can be ordered from Sony or http://www.partstore.com/. Sony does not sell the spacer you would have to buy the whole handle assembly to get it.

Take a look at the PDF file it shows how the spacer is installed.

Done deal and enjoying not using the bracket on top of the rig.
