Availability of Z5U?

I placed an order for a Z5U with B&H two weeks ago (took advantage of the NAB promotion, ordered a wireless mic as well for the $250 rebate) only to find out that the camera is on back order - not just with B&H but several other merchants. Their website now says "This is not a regularly stocked item. Delivery in 7-14 business days." I've not yet received any word that the camera is back in stock. Does anyone have any intel on the status of this camera with Sony? It's only a year old, I hope they're not scaling back production already?

In the current economic climate and the need to keep costs down, I think you'll find a lot of stores cutting back on tying up money in stock.

try Armato's -- often have equipment others don't.
but for B&H just call their pro video dept on sunday and ask -- their buyers are in constant contact with Sony.

If b&h says 7-14 days they are talking business days, so you should have your camera soon Sam.

Hurray, I got a ship confirmation notice from B&H today, but after speaking with them I learned they got a very limited number. Hope you got yours as well?
