Differences between NEX-EA50UH / EA50EH / EA50H / EA50UK / EA50EK / EA50K

Need your help here, folks -- I'm not sure that there's one place online that describes the differences between these various EA50 model numbers -- I would assume that these are all *regional* designations. If anyone can help out with the nomenclature, please speak up and I'll update this post.

EA50UH -- North American region, incl. mic. & 18-200mm powered / servo zoom lens -- available at B&H Photo / Video, appx. $3600 USD.

EA50EH -- European region, incl. mic. & 18-200mm powered / servo zoom lens

EA50H -- Asia / Pacific region, incl. mic. & 18-200mm powered / servo zoom lens

EA50UK -- North American region, incl. 18-200mm manual zoom lens, no mic.

EA50EK -- European region, incl. 18-200mm manual zoom lens, no mic.

EA50K -- Asia / Pacific region, incl. 18-200mm manual / servo zoom lens, no mic.

Thanks in advance! Now updated.

Re: Differences between NEX-EA50UH / EA50EH / EA50H / EA50UK / EA50EK / EA50K

So far it appears to be regional (U vs. E) and equipment:

H = incl. microphone ECM-XM1, 18-200mm lens is servo / powered... model # SELP18200

K = no microphone, incl. 18-200mm lens is not powered, manual only... model # SEL18200

Indeed, from the Sony press release:

Quote:
The NEX-EA50H camcorder comes with the newly developed Power Zoom E-mount lens E PZ 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS SELP18200. It features auto focus, continuous variable iris and Optical Steady Shot™ image stabilisation with Active Mode, making it ideal for shooting moving images. It is electronically controlled by both the zoom rocker lever on the camcorder grip and the camera handle. Film-makers can achieve a constant zoom speed and smooth slow zoom, both of which can be difficult to accomplish with manual zoom lenses. In addition, by using fixed focal length lenses users can simulate a zoom effect using the smart digital zoom function, ensuring that they never miss a shot in fast paced environments.

The NEX-EA50K camcorder comes with the Manual Zoom E-mount lens E 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 OSS SEL18200 which gives users auto focus, continuous variable iris and Optical Steady Shot™ image stabilisation with Active Mode. The zoom operation is only in manual, but the NEX-EA50K will be provided at a relatively affordable price setting.
The operator's manual confirms H = mic. supplied, K = no mic.

Thanks Chris

In Australia we have the EA50H available now as you describe above and the "K" is on preorder only at this stage..I haven't seen any regional suffixes here as yet..so maybe Europen and the UK have their own models as us (Usually classed as Asia Pacific) don't seem to have the region identified at all. Our EH50H here is AUS$4040 at present which sounds about right as we have to pay 10% sales tax from dealers

Thanks Chris, that certainly helps, apparently U = North America, E = Europe including the British Isles, and no designation = Asia / Pacific including Australia, etc.
