Cavision 3x3 MatteBox with Sony NX70

Hello All,

Here are some pix for the Sony NX70 and the Cavision 3x3 Mattebox. Sorry the pictures are not the greatest quality; I took them with my camera phone.

It was hard trying to configure the mattebox to the camcorder, but I was able to make some tweaks. I had a hard time attaching it to my tripod. I noticed that Cavision has a new rod system for the 3x3; I have the old one. I just placed a new order for it and it should help me make better adjustments. I'll post new pictures once I have the new rod system. I hope you like it so far!

Also, there's no vignette and the camcorder sits perfectly in the mattebox =)

Aldous,

I'm not seeing any photos here, can you repost them? Thanks in advance.

For some reason I am unable to make an attachment. I contacted Chris to assist me. In the meantime, I think you can view my pictures when you click on my name then go to the album. I still haven't had the chance to post the new pictures with the new rod system.

Hi Aldous,

I can see it now. Quite a nice looking system! I see you had to use a Rycote or similar hot shoe adapter to get the XLR block to fit.

I like the fact that it's still quite compact. I've been looking at a Vocas system, but my fear is that it is huge and will unbalance the whole setup.

I look forward to your next installment!
