Sony lens and follow focus question.
I've been using the 18-200 "kit" lens for numerous events. Sometimes I us the autofocus and other times I don't. If I use my rails and follow focus snugged up to the lens focus ring to control mnaual focus , do I risk damaging the lens if I switch to auto focus while still leaving the ffocus tight against the lens ring?
It seems to work ok, but I wanted to make sure I'm not doing potential damage to the electronics of the lens.. Thanks Bruce Yarock |

Re: Sony lens and follow focus question.
If the focus ring would turn in autofocus mode then this could be a problem. But, with the 18-200 kit lens, the focus ring isn't turning while in autofocus mode, so you can't damage the lens this way. No harm in asking!
