Does the FS100 offer donwnconvert?
Hello and thanks for any help you can provide.
Need to rent an NS-F100 to shoot 30P HD but I will need to take a composite SD signal from the camera to feed a teleprompter monitor. Does anyone know if this camera offers live down-convert? Thanks, George

Hi George, the FS100 has a composite output under the right-hand cover on the back of the camera. It's a phono connection.

I know of the output but does it downconvert from HD to SD via this connector while shooting?

The output of the video connector follows what you are asking the camera to do. If it is recording or in stand-by you get live data from the sensor. If it is in playback you get the video from the file being played.

So to make this clear...
The FS100 does not downconvert from HD to SD and send that SD live signal out the composite video connector at the back of the camera...correct?

Re: Does the FS100 offer donwnconvert?
It does downconvert the internal HiDefinition video to Standard Definition video via the Analog Composite video output on the back of the camera.
It will not convert a HiDefinition video file to a Standard Definition video file on the memory card.

Re: Does the FS100 offer donwnconvert?
All I want it to do is give me an NTSC SD picture on an NTSC SD monitor while I'm shooting in the HD mode of my choice.
Am I good?

Sorry, i wasn't clear. It's composite so it has to be standard def. You can't have hd on a composite connection.
