I just notice at B&H website that the Fs 100 discontinued.
Hopefully a replacement coming soon.

No doubt there's a replacement coming... there's always a next one.
We'll definitely keep this board open for the foreseeable future, for the benefit of everybody who continues to shoot with the FS100. |

Can't buy it at all from B&H, hopefully that means a "FS1" is just around the corner?? Is marked as "closeout" at Adorama: Sony NEX-FS100U Super 35mm Sensor Camcorder Body Only NEX-FS100U Sony NEX-FS100UK Super 35mm Sensor Camcorder NEX-FS100UK Amazon (which has Adorama listed in their marketplace) states only 15 units are left: Amazon.com : Sony NEX-FS100U Super 35mm Sensor Camcorder (Body Only), 3.5" LCD Screen, 1920 x 1080p Slow and Quick Motion, Memory Stick, SD/SDHC/SDXC Recording : Professional Camcorders : Camera & Photo http://www.amazon.com/Handycam-NEX-F...dp/B006J7AUW6/ |

Re: FS 100 discontinued
FS100 and EA50 are points in the model lineup to introduce a 4K versions with XAVC-S. Maybe IBC !! Would be competition for the Panasonic DVX200.

Re: FS 100 discontinued
Would *crush* the DVX200 for anybody who cares about having the option of interchangeable lenses!!
Panasonic needs an "AF200". Currently *only* JVC fills this market niche, with their GY-LS300 I've blogged my thoughts on what a successor might be: http://ironfilm.co.nz/sony-fs100-dis...1-coming-soon/ |

Re: FS 100 discontinued
I want 60P in UHD at 150Mbps like my FDR-AX1 but better low light and image. An EA50 UHD version would be fine with me. I am sure for $1000 Sony could make it UHD with XAVC-S. That would undercut the DVX200 and with interchangeable lenses.

Re: FS 100 discontinued
Will certainly be interesting to see what Sony does to fill this market space. Maybe another FS700 price drop? Or perhaps a successor just around the corner? I'm sure plenty of people will be looking for a B-cam to their FS7's, ideally with on-board 4K.

Yes, it's known as the FS7.

Re: FS 100 discontinued
Do not normally get fired up about new cameras but I switched (sold) my FS100 for the FS700 for slow motion and sometimes 4k via the Shogun, but I miss the size of the 100. Really hope the new camera is more fs100 size and weight with the detachable viewfinder and grip like the FS7.
