Power options for AC or DC?

I just re-discovered the Bescor site. They have some great goodies like the bags with 5AH batteries with the actual Sony power connectors on them.

What sorts of things is everyone else using? Just big batteries?

Being an Amateur Radio Operator, I have some 12v Gel Cells around that I am thinking of using as backups.
