Attaching the Tiffen Filter

I have the Sony vx2100 and want to know if I can attach the Tiffen UV filter and then attach the hood with the lens cap. I tried and it didn't seem to fit and wondered if I am doing something wrong or if it's not supposed to fit.

Thanks,
Eileen

Actually it may not fit. I've owned different filters and UV and other basic filters always fit just fine but you may notice that yours is thicker. I had a pack once and all of them would fit except the ND filter because it was thicker.
