mini dv tapes & DSR390 at DVinfo.net

Hi all,
I tried to insert a minidv tape into DSR390 but the dvcam logo doesn't disappear from the camera display.So I think the change is not automatic and I'm here asking you again if it's possible to use minidv tapes with DSR390.If yes how can I use it?

Yes you can use miniDV tapes. However it will record in DVCam mode. No option to change the recording mode to DV.

You will get 40 minutes of recording time.

That is correct; the DVCAM cameras that also can record in DV mode are the PDX-10, PD150/170 and DSR250. The 300/370/390 and 500/570 are DVCAM only.
