DvRig Pro
I'm thinking to buy a DvRig Pro to my wedding videos and I'd like to know some experience with this DvRig and 170.
Thanks in advance. Maurizio,Italy. |

Not PD170 Specifically...
Heya:
I've used the DVRig Pro extensively, but not with a Sony. I have the Panasonic DVX100a. Assuming that there's a model of the DVRig that will accommodate the PD170 then I'd say go for it. The construction is excellent, and it really does a great job of providing a shoulder mount system for handheld cameras. It is not a steadicam or stabilizer, but it has motion dampening built in which will help with motion stabilizing, but if that's what you were looking for you might look at an actual stabilizer first. I've worn a rig for full-day shoots comfortably. (They've got some of my footage up on their website as a sample: the one called "I left my tripod at home, this was shot entirely on DVRig" :) ) |
