I just did a search for "capture" and "camcorders" the first brings up 20 pages, without much info and the second I wraped up after 20 without finding much as well. Any suggestions where those threads might be? Thank you inadvance for your time.

Those are not very useful search terms as they are way too general. You need to be much more specific when searching and select the probable forums in which to search.

This forum and the editing forums, Mac and PC are probably the best bets.

The words 'transfer camcorder computer' brought up a few good replies in this and the PC editing forums. From those, you can find other search terms to use. Or use my name. I've posted a few replies to these questions.

I bought a trv 19 off ebay for like $100 with no accessories for this use and a spare camcorder. The charger for my vx-2000 worked on it, so i just bought a battery for the trv-19 and use it as a backup camcorder.
