Re: The PMW-F55 with the Fujinon Cabrio 19-90 PL servo zoom
Best part of the article is seeing this: XAVC 1920x1080 50p.
Sony PMW-F55 | This proves it is possible to shoot 1080p50 and 1080p60 with XAVC. Finally! A proper 1080p60 recording codec! |

You can shoot 4096x2160 60p using XAVC with the F55 and there will be a future firmware update for XAVC 2K on both the F5 and F55.

Re: The PMW-F55 with the Fujinon Cabrio 19-90 PL servo zoom
Do you have to use SxS PRO+ to shoot 1080p60? Or is that AXS only?
Being AXS only for 1080p60 may not be a good thing as you will need the AXS module to record that framerate. If you can record 1080p60 to SxS PRO+, that'd be ideal. It would put it one step ahead of Panasonic's AVC-Ultra IMHO. |

You can record 1080 60p to SxS Pro+ cards on both cameras. In fact, the cameras only record P. There is no interlaced video.

Would be really nice to see this trickle down to the next gen PMW-200 successors. An even sweeter deal would be 3x Global Shutters in either 1/2'' or 2/3''.

Re: The PMW-F55 with the Fujinon Cabrio 19-90 PL servo zoom
If you put a normal SxS Pro card into the camera, the demo unit I had would record most modes and frame rates on to it. If you tried for example to record 4K XAVC you get a message saying "recording not guaranteed" but it did still record. So for 50/60p HD you will quite possibly be OK with regular SxS cards.

Have you tried XQD cards with the unit? Any software locks for those types of cards? Cause for 1080p production, that would mean huge cost savings.

Sorry for being less than clear. Yes... in MPEG2 HD mode you can record 50/59.94i for broadcast

I have not tried XQD cards.
