XAVC software compatibility thread
AutoDesk Smoke 2013 for MAC - no plugin yet for XAVC but some users report HD XAVC works.
( Official Thread ) Adobe Production Suite CS6 (Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder, etc.) - I am one of the first to field test the XAVC trial plugin by Rovi for the Adobe suite with 4k footage and sadly have reported instability and constant crashing of Premiere CS6 to MainConcepts last week. I provided them with a sample 4k XAVC file and Premiere project file and waiting for their response. Luckily it is working solid in After Effects without any crashing whatsoever. Notes: the trial version puts a watermark over top of your image. Worse, it will put the watermark on all your footage even if its not XAVC - so your old projects will now have a watermark on them. Available only for PC at this time. Davinci Resolve Lite v9 - Will open 4k XAVC files but export is limited to HD 1920x1080. Davinci Resolve Full v9 - Full support of XAVC including HD, 2k, 4k input and output. Notes: Windows and MAC. ( Official thread ) Sony Vegas Pro 12 - Full support for XAVC, even SR Codec. ( Official thread ) Avid - Supports XAVC through AMA plug-in. Notes: No 4k support. Windows and MAC. ( Official thread ) Final Cut - No XAVC support. Notes: FCP7 will work with proxy MPEG-2 50mb but you need Log and Transfer Plug-In Version 1.2 for Final Cut Pro. See link.
