ex1 in wedding hall

Take a look on the lighting condition that would surly screw up a pd170, dvx100. Etc.

HQ 1920 1080 30p
Auto focus...
Shutter 1/60
No Picture profile, only manual white balance.

I did not use ANY NLE...
Out of the XDCAM transfer, into compressor.
I used the 90 min best quality SD template, but I choose CBR 8.0
I added +10 sharpness IN compressor
THAT’S IT!

The EX-1 rocks!
Enjoy

THX for reposting :)

Hmm, clean but oversharpened.
I would recommened only applying sharpening in post.
The sharpening of the EX1 seems to cause the jaggies visible around the JVC logo (we had a conversation about bad SD-quality, Detail=on is evil for resizing).

regards Dennis

I would never have been able to get such good looking images of his face with my DVX w/o some kind of fill light. This is the camera for me, but I think I'm waiting till after NAB to buy ( assuming I can convince my newly pregnant wife and not so silent business partner to not use the money for baby things that we can get from my sisters who want to get rid of their baby things now that they're done :) ).

"Take a look on the lighting condition that would surly screw up a pd170, dvx100. Etc."

Sure, the ex1 can produce an image many sd cams can only dream of but in what way would a pd170 scr*w up the lighting condition in a scene like that, have you ever work with one? I have a vx2100 and know for sure that it can handle a low light scene like that without any problem.

Hi,

I use VX2000 for weddings , too.

There are REALLY BAD lowlight situations (DJ has only one or two lights that even dont light the whole dancefloor - and rest of the room is candle light illumination...). VX2000 makes it reasonably well... I am SO curious how the EX1 would keep up with that...
