EX1 Redeye wide angle lens, wide angle setting ?
Ok,i've got a wide angle for my EX1,made by Redeye. It works fine, although it's only partial zoom thru,up 25mm.My question is,what does the camera menu setting "wide angle on" do,it does nothing on my cam, with or without the wide lens attached. When the lens goes on the picture is blurred, select "wide angle" to "on",no difference, however, select the macro function and all is sweet.
The lens is 0.8. 77mm. Paul.

The wide angle setting applies to Sony's wide angle adapter. It corrects (digitally) for the specific chromatic aberration inherent to that lens.
If you use it with your lens, it might help CA or it might make it worse. Shoot something contrasty with it and see what it does, on and off. |

Doesn't it affect the way the OIS works as well? (optical stabilization)..
I remember the Z1/V1 etc had a Wide Angle lens setting for the stabilizer.. |
