The link is in the pdf manual you can download from the same page as the ClipBrowser software.

Thanks for the link... around $500 to get full up on the new Sony Clip browser :-(

One problem diminishing the utility of the otherwise awesome transcoding features of Clip Browser 2.0 is that it only works with the mp4, so it's a fairly expensive proposition considering that limitation.

BTW,

At least using my laptop, I noticed some strange scaling jaggies on the browser preview.

To cure this issue:

Go to:
Tool>Optons>Display>Resolution.
This was set to Automatic. When I changed it to Normal the jaggies went away.

I used the Mac version for about twenty minutes and I have to say I don't like the new interface or how it feels. There are still some bugs, like playback and no option for automatically rewinding. Opening each clip requires double-clicking and it opens in a new tab!

I still haven't found options to import as stereo mixes, rather than CH1+CH2.

John, which VLC version do you have? 0.8.5 will NOT play them; I'm upgrading now...

OK - the 0.8.6d DOES play mxf's even without renaming (still no sound though).

Piotr, the current version of VLC media player is 0.8.6f and it will play MXF in 35mb and 50mb 4:2:2. I have played the 50mb files directly off the disc of the PDW-700 camera attached via firewire.

Yes Greg - confirmed here, as well. Do you know why Vegas Pro 8 cannot read the 50Mbps, 4:2:2 mxf's? Any information about SCS to make it compatible?

Thanks!

So, I just installed 2.0 for Windows and the prview window when paused looks like it has a negative effect on it...When played it does not seem as smooth as the old version either. I am going to install the Mac version to see if the results are the same... It sucks when pausing on a fram to capture a still and you can not tell what it looks like....

How do yoou inport mp4 clips into cb2? I have tried but it only seems to recognise sxs cards. I made an mp4 file in vegas and it fails to import. Did the same in PPcs3 and the same result.

Actually it's up to 0.8.6i

They've been updating very quickly lately.

Where's the manual ?
Thanks.
Paul.

Read page 21 of the manual and still completely unable to import mp4 files from anywhere other than sxs cards.

Fatal floor in the software or I am doing something wrong. Has anyone managed to import mp4 files?

Paul Kellett July 18th, 2008 10:11 AM

Same here.
I can't import mpeg4 either.

I just want to check that files have been transfered to a hard-drive ok.

Just seems strange to me that Clip Browser can rewrap to MXF but then can't read them.

Paul.

Craig Seeman July 18th, 2008 10:15 AM

I imported an "orphaned" EX MP4 and it immediately created a viable BPAV folder which I was then able to use in XDCAM Transfer Tool 2.7 (Mac).
