Reach around the front of the camera and turn the shutter on.
Problem solved.

I don't have an EX1 but using a friends a few days ago I was trying to access the very slow shutter speeds. On my Z1 I simply scroll the wheel and it goes 1/50th, 1/25th, 12, 6, 3. What does the EX1 show when it goes down to these vely long shutter speeds?

Frame accumulation appears to use a frame store and add the last x captured frames to create the frame it records. x can be 2-8 using SLS or 16, 32 or 64 using EX Slow Shutter. Apart from giving a ghostly effect to any movement, adding the frames boosts light sensitivity.
