Rubber BNC Cap

Anyone know if you can order/purchase the little BNC rubber cap that's oh so easy to lose? I've narrowly escaped losing it several times now, but I guess it's nine lives are up because I'm not having any luck this time. I always try and put it in a safe place but when you get into the stress of a moment and have to take it off, it becomes a blur where you might have placed it or if it just up and bounced out where you wanted it to go. I'm wondering if there's a way to get a couple so I'm not without or a handy replacement that some one has come up with? I checked the sony parts store but didn't look like they had much in the way of EX1. Thanks in advance.

You should be able to get something from Sony. I quickly lost the original rubber plug that came with my camera. Sony replaced it (at no cost, and unprompted) when I sent the camera in for a warranty repair for battery drain. The new one is a much nicer design and doesn't easily fall off.

Thanks for the help. Brian I sent you an email. What does the new one look like? The old one was just a black rubber cap right, what's different on the new design? Sorry to make a issue of that cap but I feel like something should be covering that up, either to protect from bumps or debris getting in there. I do tend to shoot outdoors a lot.

This came up right after the EX1 was first released. Everybody was losing them. Here's the info I posted then: The part # is 3-285-384-01, the price is $4.53 but the minimum shipping and handling charge is $11- something, so if you go this route you'd be best off ordering more then one. Phone for parts is 1-800-538-7550.

Hopefully it's still accurate.
