IR problem and Abrupt highlight clipping

Anyone know if the IR contamination problem is related to the abrupt highlights clipping problem?
or, know if that is related to the "plastic looking skin tones issue"?

Abrupt highlights clipping :http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/sony-xdc...-clipping.html
Plastic looking skin tones : http://www.dvinfo.net/forum/sony-xdc...early-ex1.html

Plastic skin tones seem to appear when the red channel is clipping, this is because EX is sensitive to red?
Does this mean fixing IR contamination solves the plastic skin tones?
