EX1R interfering Sony wireless mic

Hi, I using Sony WRR810 / WRT820 wireless mic system, I found when I attach the WRR810 Receiver on right hand side or over the handle bar of EX1R, EX1R will interfering it and come a lot of crackle sound. I tried extend the cable and place Receiver leave the camera, everything OK.

Anybody have same problem? Any other idea to slove it?

Thanks!

This is why I choose to go with the Sennheiser G3 kit. The Sony's also come short on user friendly operating menus and some key performance areas. If your stuck with Sony and it is still on warranty them you recourse is to send the wireless unit to a service center. Cheers!

I make a plate and wing system for the EX cams as well as others.

Here are photos showing how wireless receiver mounts. This system puts the receiver in a very safe place and I have never had a problem with "interference" with this system. It works on any receiver. You can also mount NanoFlash or many other accessories to the wing and arms. And there is a shoulder system available as well. This also adds a very strong stable tripod plate to the camera.

Did you get interference on your sony wireless before using your mount to separate the unit from the camera?

do the EX cameras cause wireless interference?

David Issko October 11th, 2010 09:24 PM

Just double check that the camera's phantom supply is not on. Similar interference with Sony radio mic happened to me once and I found that the +48v supply was on with the radio mic connected.

Thanks, Ed Kukla : Yes, when I put the wireless separate from the ex1 (about 45cm, the max length of the cable) , everything is OK.

Thanks David Issko: I sure the phantom power is Off.

Have you tried aluminum foil or blackwrap between the wireless & the camera?

Hirata Tomoki October 15th, 2010 08:34 PM

Thanks, Ed Kukla:

Thank you for your suggestion, I will like to try blackwrap, aluminum foil is too conspicuous.
Is it needs to pack whole body of the receiver?

"Is it needs to pack whole body of the receiver?"

Hard to say. I would try putting a piece of blackwrap between the camera & the receiver and test it. Then expand from there. It may not work at all...
