effective way to sync an EX1r with a Z1?
I wonder if it's possible to use the time code?
I'd say not, as even using the remotes to start, the Ex1r will always be quicker to start recording, hence defeating the purpose has anyone managed to sync these 2 camcorders for a multi-shoot? using maybe the clap method and match the waveforms? |

Handclap, clapboard and flash photo are all techniques that can be used. But don't be surprised if there's a drift after 15-20 minutes.

I always use Pluraleyes for syncing. It's a brilliant plug in-can't remember the price, but well worth it for time saving alone!

Setting both cams to free run tc, and then matching them by hand, gets you within a few seconds.
Then using a slate on each shot will make it easy to match up in post. I do this often with many different cameras, it works very well. I have made a slate that has a large digital clock on it. So you don't have to clap just match the seconds changing.
