Recommendations for PXW-FS7 upgrade
Hello,
Been away 8 years, trying to pick up again. I'm looking for frame rates of 120 or higher at 4K resolution. I came across the Canon C400. Looks really nice, but it was more than I want to spend at this point. My budget is around $8000 all in; media, batteries, etc. For immediate use, I pulled the trigger on a Canon R6 MKIII, due to the frame rate/resolution. I plan to record woodworking related content. Instructional stuff. Is there something in a camcorder form-factor that will give me 120P @ 4K? I love my FS7 and have poured a lot into it. If there isn't something new I can afford, then I'll use my FS7 and assorted other video cameras for most stuff and break out that Canon R6 MKIII for my best slow mo footage needs. I have the XF305, FDR-AX100 (x2), FDR-AX53 (x2), PXW-Z90, 5D MKIV (x2). Have a large assortment of EF glass. Interchangeable lenses is desired. If the C400 is the recommendation, then I'll see what the full operating cost will be and give it consideration. What did FS7 users move on to? Thanks, Mark |

Re: Recommendations for PXW-FS7 upgrade
If you want 4K @ 120 fps in a camcorder, there's no better option than the Sony Z200. Amazing camera.
If you want something closer to an FS7 that has removable lenses and a big sensor, then that would be the FX6.

Thanks Doug. Both of those are very good options.
