Problem with subtle banding in dark grey/blacks when recording ProRes 422

Hi,

I was just doing some green screen tests today and noticed that when recording in ProRes 422 some subtle banding appeared on my black t-shirt. Its kinda like you'd get if one of your lights was out of phase, but that wasn't the case. I did the same test in all ProRes settings, as well as recording locally to my Canon XF300 CF card, but the banding only manifested itself when recording in ProRes 422...

Just wondering if anyone else has had any issues when recording at the same compression?

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Chris,

We already tracked down the cause of this subtle ProRes issue and a fix will be available in the next firmware update due shortly. DNxHD is unaffected.
