Glidecam---Steadicam--Varizoom Flowpod

I'll be shooting shooting surf with the JVC HD1 and would like to feature each rider before sessions in an artisctic way by shooting them from various angles while moving(flying by) their enviroment. I've never shot with any the mentioned stabilizers in the title. The HD1 handles very poor while handheld and shoots at 30p. Any suggestions?
