Lomo cam

Hey all,

Any of the old timers wish to enlighten me on this world of lomography?

I have seen some output and frankly i love it!! But i am unsure of what is so special about these camera's.

Is there a special process that the film gets hit with, or is it the film itself, or the paper, or just the cameras that give it such an outrageous look?

Please englighten me to this world.

The Lomo is a relatively new fad. I think it is a Russian camera that has grown popular in the west since the fall. The Lomography Society should have all the info you need on their site. Us old timers did this type of work with a Diana camera.

The Lomo, I think, uses 135 film (35mm) and the Diana uses 120 film. It's nice to have a bigger negative, but the film and processing will cost more. If you're in school and have access to a darkroom, either would be fun to play with.

I was just looking at this, and was quite amused at the very skewed and original looking images they produced.

I might get my hands on one and see what they are capable of.
