Sony DSC-S90 for the wifey
I picked up a Sony DSC-S90 for the wife for Christmas and of course I had to verify its operation first... Its an impressive little camera for the $160 I paid (after mail-in-rebate). It was the only camera in the price range that had 4MP, 3X optical zoom, AF-assist lamp, and the least amount of red-eye. I was also pleased with its 640x480 movie mode @ 30fps. It even comes with two AA NiMH batteries and charger. The 2.5" LCD is huge but isn't super high resolution at only 112k pixels. If you need a small cam this might be something worth looking into. Oh yeah, it gains-up the LCD in dim lighting and has an optional wide angle and telephoto adapter available.
... to think the wife wanted jewelry :) Here are some pics of the DSC-S90 http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-...15/DSC-S90.jpg http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2002-...ndview-big.jpg |

Definitely pleased by the performance of the S90 and my next purchase is the sub $50 underwater housing good for up to 10ft!
