A beautiful camera....

For $786 USD, this new 10 mega-pixel camera will get Leica M8 owners kicking themselves.

Wait a minute. I just looked at a Staples flyer and noticed the 10 mega-pixel Canon Powershot A640 for $399.92 Canadian. I bet it's even cheaper in the US. ;)

Seems a little more comparable to a V-Lux 1 for about the same price

A Leica is going to retain its value better than a Ricoh, although it will be interesting to see how much so as digital technology advances. Who's going to want to shoot a 10 Mpixel camera in 10 years other than artists doing a retro look?

I doubt it, unless it's a pristine Leica film camera, or Leica figures a way to upgrade the M8's 10 mega-pixel in the very near future.

The M8 is also retro, but costs $5000!

thanks for the link - I've heard 7 even w/the evf kit. It's a DP1 killer if it's got decent IQ. Forget Leica . They're already dead in the water.
