Contracts!

Hi everyone. I'm new here to the boards and I was hoping I could get some assistance.

I have just started doing some paid production work and I would like to protect myself with a contract. Are there any good websites to help me with how I should write my contract?

Anything you get from websites would be highly suspect - there are just too many variables involved for that to be a reliable way for you to get something that would adequately protect you. Contract law can be a very localized and industry specific thing and what is perfectly adequate in a neighboring State might prove to be a disaster in your area. This is definitely an area where you need to bite the bullet and pay an attorney to sit down with you to discuss your needs and help you draw up a standard agreement that covers them. It may cost a few dollars but not all that many - we're not talking a major legal case here, just some basic law that goes a bit beyond what should be attempted by an amateur - and probably would prove a bargain at twice the price.
