HELP! Anyone buy a camera by using Western Union
I am thinking of buying a camera off someone who lives in Itily. They want to do payment through Western Union (actually going to the WU office). I was wondering if anyone has done this and how safe it is. I dont know the person, but they have good feedback. Any advice would be appriciated.
Thanks |

Absolutely DO NOT NOT NOT do it. Italy + Western Union has all the earmarks of a classic e-bay scam. Good feedback means nothing. It is likely a stolen account, or the feedback is generated by selling very very cheap (or possibly even non-existant items such as "a joke" - seriously, I've seen people sell "a joke" on ebay to get feedback).
This is classic and widespread with electronics. DO NOT do it. It is totally 100% unsecure. If you use Western Union you have absolutely no way to get your money back. I can't say it enough, DON'T DO IT. |

Look at the top of this thread. There is a post called "HOW NOT TO GET SCAMMED ON EBAY" There is a specific section about Western Union being a tool for fraud.
