divorce question for those in the business
my marriage may very well be headed down the big D path. I was wondering what happens to my business? I started it before we had ever met, have purchased all the equipment, do all the work. Since she works at a bank, she does turn my retainer checks into CDs, but thats the extent of it. She takes NO part in it production, buying gear, editing, nothingl, has never been with me to one shoot in the 5.5 years we have been together. I have just begun to explore this possibility and was wondering if anyone else had been through this.

I'd say consult a (divorce) attorney, especially when your business may be on the line.
In general I believe if she holds a full time job and there are no kids, things are much easier (financially, that is). George/ Last edited by George Kroonder; October 19th, 2008 at 09:54 AM. |

Communal property laws vary from state to state. This is not the place to get legal advice about divorce rights, you'd be better off consulting an attorney.
Hope it all works out for the best. |
