That's kinda how I'm feeling. Though, we don't do a ton of broadcast work, I'd still rather (and will look for) use ASCAP music if I'm gonna have to do all this crap for BMI.

Royalty free music: 50's

Can anyone point me to a list that shows royalty free songs from the 50's?

If there is one...

Cheers,

Mike

Excellent product and service

I have always found the right music and received fantastic service at www.shockwave-sound.com. The variety is great and ever growing and the pricing exceptionally fair (don't tell them that - for obvious reasons). You even get a license with tracks.

Hi Mike, how big is the file at the end of your latest short link?
Rather than direct link to it, please - would you consider placing it in an html page to view online rather than download? Cheers

His link is to a 75MB file.

Oh, and Dave, great link. I will add it to my list on my web site.

As far as Rotalty Free songs from any era, it is difficult since most of them are copyrighted. Any song you have heard is probably too expensive to license and certainly will not be royalty-free.

I don't think that anyone here has mentioned SonicFire, which is a Mac/Windows application which works with special royalty-free music tracks. I bought it a while back thinking that I probably wouldn't use much since I do some composing myself, but it's come in very useful on two documentaries that I'm working on. Reporting of music is not required, and the tracks are a $20 download (or $10 each if you buy a CD). A very flexible system. It certainly doesn't have very conceivable kind of music, but it has a very wide range.

Disclaimer: I have no connection with SonicFire, shares in the company, etc.etc.

Greg
