Text jump

Ok, maybe I'm just dumb, but I was going for that whole "text jump/flicker" effect like in EVERY horror trailer where the text is in one place, jumps to another spot for a few frames, then back to the original spot. I can't get it right, and it looks awful. Ideas?

What are you creating it in? I've done it in After Effects with great results.
