Lighting Question
Couldn't find any posts on this so...
I am filming a love scene between two people(Not Porn). One is African American/Very Dark Skin. The other is blond with blue eyes white skinned/Very Light. When we shot the first time. We could light her great by herself. We could light him great. However, when they kissed, it was a nightmare. When they got so close to each other only she lit well and we couldn't see his face. What do you guys think? Andrew |

have you tried gamma or different black setup settings ?
is this a night or day scene ... is the room dark ? wide, med shot , CU , extreme CU ? do you need to see details in face or could it be more sihouette?( plus throw in more backlight on actors ) bounce light will put a sheen on darker skin vs. direct light ... the closer the bounce to person the more sheen on darker skin ...also warmer light helps slightly on black skin ... basically the sheen will show up more on dark skin vs. light skin |
