de-interlacing high shutter speed

i m about to start a music video tomorow with a sony pd-150. we re trying to get that stroboscopic style as in saving private ryan. in order to get that i need to shoot at least with a shutter speed of 1/80(PAL). but i wonder if de interlacing works with a shutter speed over 1/50 since the concept is to turn 1/50 into 1/25(PAL)...

thanx for your help

For PAL, this should work, because it's a 2 field to 1 frame ratio. For NTSC, it's highly recommended against.
