Just to say Hi

Hi all,
I am from Hong Kong; thousand miles from where most of you people reside. I am totally blank in video things. But I probed around to get any hints to help my decision made on getting a dvcam. I was torn between PD10p and XM2, but several threads on this forum helped me settling on a XM2 which came 10 days ago. Seems you people are pretty knowledgeable, so I shall pour in tons of questions here; if any one of you care to answer.

Colin,

welcome to the forum, I only started a couple of months ago and I check the forum daily.

Perhaps the best place to start is to read all the old posts on the forum, take your time and don't expect to do it in a day ;)

Have a look at the links on threads and read the great wealth of knowledge passed on by everyone here.

Above all go out and practice with your new XM2, oh and remember to read the manual/instructions and have oodles of FUN!!!

As I said earlier don't expect to learn in a day, you will improve over time. I am giving myself 20 years to start with!

Good luck and remember to read those previous posts.

Thanks for the advice, Alan.
For those who are well experienced in dvcam or have owned a cam before would be OK with the manual. But to be honest, it is not that intuitive to a beginner like me.
I shall start a new thread on the B/W eye level view finder soon.
