Ok really OFF Topic,DV culture question.
How many people here in DV land played/play Role Playing Games? And I don't mean the computer kind. I mean the kind with books and dice, minitures. That kind of thing. D&D, AD&D, Traveller,.

uh oh
Long time ago. AD&D. The nearest thing I do to it now is just on the computer and I don't even have time for that now.
By the way, you're not thinking of doing something like this, are you?

No, there won't be any live action RPG in my future. Interesting though.
I was watching "Adult Swim" and a writer asked if the Robot named "Bender" had a body like a futurisitic "bag of holding". AS's respoce was that they had to punish themselves for knowing what a "bag of holding" was. I almost bust a gut. I just can't believe what a huge part of my life it was. It was realy big the geek crowd. Now poof. Gone. The kids at the hobby store now play "Warhammer" which is more of a traditional wargame. I guess I just wanted to see if I was the only one.

WOW
I should have been sexually active by the age of two then.
'cause in junior high and high school I was the ubernerd. I forgot about D&D, though, right about the time I discovered girls. Furthermore, I had the sense to hide my shameful past!

I never got into the sit down RPG's. Although my friends did and I was often recruited to design their characters (I can draw). I played D & D no more than 3 times in my life.
Now, I do enjoy the computer games though! |

Oddly enough, I've never played D&D, though I did model for a number of game modules. I have a good friend who did the artwork for D&D games and books.
Seriously. In another lifetime, I owned and operated a professional jousting company. Spent a LOT of time in armor on horseback, so my idea of "pretending" to do it didn't hold a lot of fun. My son is a big fan though, and I shot a short film with him and some RP buddies about accidentally "falling into" the game. Got to use some of my old armor and props. Won some small accollades with that one. Like I said, another lifetime ago. Richard. |
