Looks very nice indeed. Too bad I couldn't understand a word
they are saying. Is this from anyone who did any other major
movie work (I am familair with *some* of the bigger work in
eastern cinema).

i saw a link at another site actually. dunno much about it since i don't watch much japanime. it's supposed to be based on a manga but with live action guys.

i thought it was a live-action remake of Akira for a second.
Definitely some scene influences there. Great looking piece.
Hope it has substance too.

I've watched it. One of the most beautiful films i've ever seen. But the story just isn't there. By the end of the movie it's just blanetly trying to hammer a message into your head; that you just can't help but be turned off by it.

that's too bad. with all this technology... no1's found a way to tell a nice+compelling story with it yet. well wait there's lord of the rings =). but that was all from the book.

it's sorta like final fantasy. great eye candy... but poor execution of story.

How about Big Fish? Perhaps the best use of CG to further the story as opposed to wow the audience.

while there are obviously many films that rely on fx, i think there are also a good number of quality films that use fx to help tell the story. fight club's another good example. there are many.
