Wow, what do you guys think? I haven't read the graphic novels, but this looks promising (visually at least, I don't know about whether or not it's going to be style over substance but I hope not). http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/sin_city.html Dennis |

I'm going to find the contrasty black and white hard to follow but I will give it an A for effort. The hard bitten dialogue is good on the page but I saw the extended scene with Josh Harnett and it sounds like crap spoken.

In the beginning I thought the b&w with color was a little bit 'showy' but I still think the movie looks very promising. I would love to see it, although I don't know the comic and usually I don't love comic-movies that much (exept the Batman's from Tim Burton, but only Tim Burton... Although Chris Nolan is a good director, only Tim Burton really comprehended that dark fairytale world)

The Tim Burton batman was the only good one indeed, but I have high hope for the new Batman Begins! Sounds like they are doing some very dark and gritty stuff with that as well.

I have high hopes for Batman Begins too - I hope the franchise redeems itself... I have always thought of Batman as a detective genre than action... so far it looks pretty good. Dennis |
