100 mbs hikari fiber line

This is the result of my friend's Hikari Fiber line, I thought it would be a lot faster. I guess I won't upgrade for awhile, I hear the prices are going down and the places you can get it are becoming more widespread, although there is also a 2 month waiting list to get one of those lines. maybe next year they will have some really fast connections available.

I redid my test,

he paid about $360 to install it and it's about $20 more a month, I'll definitely wait on the upgrade.

I just got my fiber optic line installed yesterday at my house, ran the test today(San Francisco site) and I have 2341 kpbs up and 1856 kpbs down. This is 3 times faster than my old DLS connection.

I ran a test to a server in Tokyo and I got this:
28184.93kbps(28.184Mbps) 3522.55kB/sec

uploading and downloading stuff to my iDisk is great now, before it would take forever to upload a 20mb file.

now there is no installation fee and it costs about the same as the DSL line.
