Bogen Head Libec Legs

Hey,
I have a Bogen 501 head, I want to buy a Libec T58 Tripod. Can I attach the 501 head to it? Libec said that this tripod has a "75mm claw ball makes leveling smooth and steadythred."

Does anyone know if my 501 head will attach to these legs?

I know my 501 head has a 3/8" Female Thread. Can i get an adapter to fit it?? I really want to find an affordable set of legs that look very sililar to these Libec legs. I like the "professional" look. not the single 3 legs. I want a ground spreader etc. any suggestions

Please help thanks

Hey,
I decided not to go with libec. I was confused with these "75mm 100mm half bowl types".

I did some research and I found a Bogen/Manfrotto 3182 tripod in my price range and that isnt too heavy only 8lbs. I was looking all over for an affordable tripod that hase these features and the looks of it as well. I really wanted a tripod that looks professional too, kinda like the news photogs use alot, hey got to impress people.
I also wanted a tripod that has the ability to attach a ground spreader on as well. I also found that this one is compatable with my 501 head. I was just confused on their 75mm 10mm bowl heads I had no clue what they ment.

But I want on manfrottos site and found all the info. I'm going to go with that.

The bowls are what the pros use to level the tripod head when the tripod itself is not on level ground. The head has a 1/2 ball that attaches to the bottom. The tripod has a matching 1/2 bowl (concave hole) on its top. Put the ball into the bowl and you can now move the tripod head around. There is a threaded shaft that is attached to the ball and it sticks through the bottom of the bowl (through a fairly large hole) and when you tighten the knob on the shaft, it locks the head to the tripod in whatever angular relationship you want.

Very quick setup. Much better than having to adjust the leg lengths.

This is what I am going to buy.

It says on Bogen's site it comes with the 75mm leveling ball "The supplied ball leveller is 75mm in diameter". Also the picture of the ball on Bogens site has a male screw it looks like to attach my 501 head to. I dont know on B&H's site if it comes with it or not, It says from B&H's site "Bogen / Manfrotto 3181 Lightweight 1-Stage Professional Video Tripod Legs (Black) with 75mm Half Ball)"

So it comes with the ball then? and I am able to attach my 501 head to it?

Here are some pictures below from Bogen's site of what this tripod comes with. If bogen says the tripod comes with the 75mm leveller it must come with it if I buy it at B&H?

Thats a great idea, now I dont have to adjust the legs all the time when I need to level out my camera.

Thanks
