anyone know what Sacthler plate models fit each other?
Does anyone know how far back current Sachtler plates are interchangable? I've got an old Sachtler 15 (so old it says Sachtler Munchen on it!) and the plate was lost. What are the odds it will fit a Video15 plate?

I don't KNOW the answer so anything I said would be a guess, not going there. However, I know someone who WILL know or can find out. Fire a mail to Barbara.Jaumann@VitecGroup.com , she's the Sachtler Product Manager, give her any identification you can, serial no. etc, a photo never goes amiss either. Good luck. CS |

To answer this for anyone else in my position, the current Touch N Go plate is waaaaaaay back compatible! Phew!

Is it a DV 15? Then the camera plate of the Video 15 will fit. If it is even an older model please send me a photo (barbara.jaumann@vitecgroup.com) and I will check which camera plate might fit. Best regards Barbara |

They go back a long way (over 2 decades) unless it is part of the smaller line released in the last 10 years or so. Here is a link to B+H looking for Sachtler plates which show the common ones and prices

Barb & Phil, I got solved the problem thanks (see my first post for details). Daniel is correct, at least 20 years of back compatibility. That's the plate I bought and it fits a vintage Sactler 15 made in WEST Germany.
