Per Johan Naesje October 26th, 2007 09:29 AM

I'm very happy that I'm just in the middle of you two - Brian and John Dennis ;-)

Meryem Ersoz October 26th, 2007 11:00 AM

can i just say how much i love running an outdoors contest that has to find a theme that can be worked out by both brian in the arctic and john in south africa?? and per, in between...

that is so freaking COOL, you guys, to have the world at our desktop, present and playing....

the good news is, that i'm going for a theme that's sure to piss everyone off, all around the world! that way, i know i'm doing a good job.

they don't call this a Challenge for nothing!

i think i need to start a "Tales of Wonder and Woe" thread right now, before we even post the theme, so that i can weed out all of the idle chit-chat from the actual signer-uppers...(of course, i'm the most guilty party of all, when it comes to idle chatter, mea culpa, mea culpa...)

Is this when we are supposed to start worrying? ;)

Meryem, you sure know how to make us look forward to November 1st.
Once more you will bring on a great theme and a real challenge for all of us.

Brian McKay October 26th, 2007 01:51 PM

"a theme that's sure to piss everyone off"

Hmmmm

One Camera is broken

Come on guys help me out here will ya....she's killing us :)

Brian

D.J. Zupancic October 26th, 2007 02:38 PM

I would like to join in on the last theme. I will not be competing for the prize because of my insider knowledge. But I look forward to being one of the cool participants.

Catherine Russell October 26th, 2007 02:40 PM

Yikes! I think the most challenging part about this challenge is enduring the buildup and suspense concerning this last theme of the year.

Meryem, what ARE you up to? Any hints? How about .... it rhymes with ...

Sounds like someone is desperately trying to get a clue about the theme, eh?
Well, that makes 2 of us, hahaha. Twisting my brain, not a clue so far.

Kevin Railsback October 26th, 2007 02:48 PM

Yeah, she's scaring the crap out of us and then the theme will be something like "clouds."

That's ok, I have some snazzy new swimmin trunks so I'm all set to take a dive if I have to. :)

I'm assuming Meryem will be out of contact on 11/1 so she won't have to listen to all of us complain? :)

Bob Safay October 26th, 2007 03:14 PM

Hey, has young Gab signed on yet?

Kevin Railsback October 26th, 2007 08:18 PM

Not yet. Haven't seen much of him.

Meryem Ersoz October 26th, 2007 10:00 PM

young gabriel has fallen In Love...

sniff sniff, they grow up so fast...sob.

i'm sure he will re-surface some day, scratching his beer belly and wondering where the time went. heh.

Jeff Hendricks October 27th, 2007 08:30 AM

Count me in and I will try to actually submit something this time.

Chris Eugster October 30th, 2007 10:03 AM

I'll give it a shot, never entered a contest before. This does seem more up my alley though!

Meryem Ersoz October 30th, 2007 10:20 AM

and all the players, old and new. this is shaping up to be an interesting round.

Chris Eugster October 30th, 2007 06:59 PM

Thanks! I also just switched cameras so it'll be good to have something definite to shoot with the new one.

Marco Wagner October 30th, 2007 08:26 PM

please sign me up for this last shindig!

Meryem Ersoz October 30th, 2007 10:08 PM

Mike Blumberg October 30th, 2007 10:29 PM

Please count me in on this one and I will try to stay out of the tank.

Benjamin Durin October 31st, 2007 12:03 AM

You are joining a very good uwol friendship,
You get a very good excuse to get out in the nature,
You get a great opportunity to spend more time with your camera,
You get a chance to show the world your artwork,
...
...
And last but not least, you get a chance to follow rule #11: HAVE FUN!!

Mat Thompson October 31st, 2007 05:57 AM

And learn all about Norway of course ;-) !!!

Dave Robinson October 31st, 2007 06:05 AM

I'm a low level scum bag n00b but I'll definitely give it a whirl. I'm based in Wales, UK so I apologise now for all the rain!!

Meryem Ersoz October 31st, 2007 01:59 PM

heeeey! i've been waiting for you to sign up for one of these things! i'm thrilled that you decided to show up. now all you have to do is finish, alper. and you better finish because i desperately want Turkey on my list of finishers. along with you, benjamin, because we want Taiwan to finish as well. you guys better post something, or i'm gonna have to fly on over there and finish your films myself! we need a better showing from those regions. i'm psyched you guys are showing up for our party at last!

Bob Safay October 31st, 2007 03:49 PM

Bob, I'll send all the rain you want. We have severe floodings in my area today. Got rain, rain and tons of more rain.
I'd gladly share with you. :)

Mat Thompson October 31st, 2007 05:24 PM

Really good to see all the new comers.......a very big welcome :-) !!!

Chris Barcellos October 31st, 2007 05:36 PM

We should have a friendly team competition like the Ryder Cup, except with all the great stuff coming out of Norway, they have to stand the world !!

Trond Saetre November 1st, 2007 03:30 AM

"The World vs Norway"

Chris, this sounds like a huge challenge from sunny California.
The vikings will be ready, hahahaha

I can't wait to the international uwol tour when we all together will get a chance to make videos from Australia, USA, Norway.... or wherever we visit.
It is great to see how many countries are represented in this uwol family.

Paul Mailath November 1st, 2007 04:33 AM

wow, per, are you a mind reader or what?? (go see the theme!)

yes, the theme posting is on colorado time, although we try to compensate with our "anywhere in the world" open deadline.

fortunately, i am also on "Young Child Who Has Never Been a Good Sleeper" time as well, so your theme is posted, and sign-ups are officially closed! go get it!
