Marshall V-LCD70P battery issue

So I ordered a Marshall V-LCD70P monitor with the canon mount which fits all the Canon BP-9__ batteries and I currently have the batteries themselves. Monitor should work fine with the batteries, however the monitor mount for the rig I have doesn't have the space for the battery on the back.

Is there any way to power the battery externally, using an adaptor/dummy without shelling out the money for something like the the Anton Bauer ElipZ 10k? I tested the dummy battery, connected to the charger with the battery on the charger(not plugged into the wall) on my friend's XH-A1 to see if that option would work, but it didn't.
