Camera with following criteria ... at DVinfo.net

I'm still looking for that (semi) perfect camera for stage events. I thought maybe I might find some suggestions here.

I currently have a Sony AX2000 and Canon XA10. I really like my XA10 and I've sort of gotten used to shooting with it, but dang ... I miss my manual controls outside of a touch screen. Riding the iris on this camera is tough, but it makes for a good, un-manned camera in the back.

I like the layout of the Sony and the 20x lens, but I think the footage could look better and I would really like to cut down on the size of the camera.

Are there any smaller cameras that would give me a 20X lens with actual buttons and dials as opposed to menus?
