IMPORT HELP - Dig. Cam AVI to Vegas7

I have AVI files on my hard drive from a Finepix s5200 digital camera - they play fine in Windows Media - BUT only Audio imports into Vegas7

I have a two day deadline for this project PLEASE HELP!!!!

I found a work around - but it is lengthy - I imported the clips into Windows Movie Maker (which recognized both video and audio) and rendered to a wmv. file - which then imports fine into Vegas 7.

I would still DEARLY love to know how to import them direct into Vegas though - as the thought of pre rendering EACH file through Movie Maker is enough to make me ....sick.

Does it use an MJPEG codec? If yes, do a search here for MJPEG to find a codec you can download which will allow the video to work. If not, figure out what codec is needed, download one, and install it.

MJPEG Codec

I have no idea what codec it uses and I do not know how to find out. - All of my Media player play it ok - so I assumed the codecs were not an issue. Do you have to load Codecs specifically intro Vegas?

Go here and download the MJPEG V3 codec trial version. That'll fix your problem.

There are different types of codecs. Vegas uses the "Video for Windows" codecs. You obviously have a codec that works in WMP but it's not a "VfW" codec.
