Downconvert HDV and timecodes

Hi guys
Probably a dumb question...
Suppose I in-camera downconvert an 1080i HDV signal (to DV SD) from a
Canon HV 20, edit it and make a SD DVD for a client.
One year latter, the client wants the same edited product in the original 1080i HDV.
Are HDV in-camera downcoverted timecodes the same as the original HDVs?
Is Vegas 7e able to automaticaly re-capture the same clips and adress them to the saved project to allow me to render now from HDV 1080i to HDV 1080i? What should I do?

Thank you

Ron
