Vegas 8 > MXF output

just got home... wanting to make sure I understand the workflow for tomorrow.

I've been given a few dozen MXF files captured with FCP. I work in Vegas (hence the posting here). I've trimmed the files and made proxies, but need to export full-quality versions soon.

Will rendering back to MXF cause a generational loss? Or will Vegas 8 give me the "no recompression required" screen?

NOTES
- original footage was taken with a Sony XDCAM EX.
- properties listed in Vegas say it was captured at 1440x1080, 1.33 aspect ratio, 23.976fps, 35 Mbit/s
- no filtering, resizing, etc of the footage has been done.

thx in advance
rob

ps ~ should i be in 32bit when rendering or does it matter in this case?

the answer in my case turns out to be; use the preset template that comes with Vegas:

HD 1080-24p

and under the Video tab, change the Bit rate (Mbps) from:

"25 (CBR) - SP" to "35 (VBR) - HQ".

this will provide no recompression... handy for trimming files down to size.

ps ~ and no, 32bit does not need to be set
